Working with boys and men to prevent gender-based violence

What we Do

Partners for Prevention has three components:

Communication for Social Change
We share lessons on what works when using communications approaches to engage boys, men and broader communities for change. We are partnering with existing campaigns – such as the White Ribbon Campaign - to leverage their impact in Asia and the Pacific. We are also exploring new media and communication technologies for their potential to engage more young people around the issue of gender-based violence.

Capacity Development and Networking
We facilitate capacity development to involve boys and men in gender-based violence prevention with many partners in the region. Serving as a central resource for networking and capacity development we continuously integrate lessons from the field into new and existing knowledge and training products.

Evidence-based Policy Advocacy
We consolidate existing research and support new studies to deepen the understanding of the root causes of gender based violence. This evidence-base will guide specific policy recommendations to enhance prevention approaches. Our programme will also work with policy makers and national level partners to facilitate policy change processes.
